GLAM Cares hosts free or low-cost training and events throughout the year. Events are run online and in-person. These are an opportunity for community engagement professionals to network, facilitate self-care and build skills that are useful in their work.

GLAM Cares One Day Conference

Join our in-person community of care. This one-day conference will explore socially engaged practice, wellbeing and support through engaging presentations, case studies and workshops. Tickets are just £20.

Peer Support Session: Managing Up
This 2 hour, small group session will involve getting and giving peer support. Participants are invited to bring along a current ‘managing up’ challenge that they want help with.  This is not a therapeutic space, but one that will enable you to process and find clarity with the support of others. Led by Bryony Rowntree, a coach and Mental Health First Aid instructor.

Sharing Best Practice- Esther Amis-Hughes (Leeds City Museum) and Julie Brown (Birmingham Museums)
Join us to hear best practice and replicable tips and tricks from two museum professionals. Esther and Julie will share insight on staff wellbeing, emotional labour and community engagement.

Free Event: Self Care at Christmas

Join GLAM Cares this December to share Self Care tips for the holiday season whether it is your coping mechanism or something you put in place to control the situation we want to hear and learn from you.  Wellbeing is affected by our home and work life and flows between, so understanding both at this busy time of year may help both.  

So bring along a coffee, a mince pie, share insight and celebrate the end of a busy year.

Join us for a full day workshop on trauma-informed working aimed at GLAM community engagement professionals.
Led by Vicky Richardson of Bread and Roses Counselling with Jane Bradley. Vicky has over fifteen years’ experience of supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, in a range of roles, and is also a former museum professional. Jane is a writer, educator and therapist.
